| My name is Sam Lantz. I live and work as a Photographer and Web Designer in southern Sweden. I´ve always have had images popping up in my mind, perhaps that´s why I became a Photographer, however a camera is not a very exiting tool to produce art with although I´d have done some interesting images with one, it didn`t stimulate me to continue creating. Then many years ago I discovered the computers potential for creating images, though the lack of performance in the computer at the time made it almost impossible to create images with high resolution, within realistic time. So I waited. Finally the last couple years the computer has develop to be powerful enough to perform the way I required. These new possibilities have allured me into a journey in an exiting world, with new realities, unknown dimensions and yet, in a paradoxical way, quite worldly. I´ve been completely absorbed by creating digital art ever since, quite a journey it has been. I´ve have found my photographic skills extremely useful, especially with light techniques and color handling, not only in the computer but also in controlling the printed artwork to achieve the highest possible quality prints. When I create a new artwork I sometimes start with the title, the "Devastating Smile" and "Reflections of Erika" where both named before they was created, and sometimes an image pops up in my mind, both "Birth of an egg" and "Ovoskaler 1" is examples of this. You will find that all of my works are abstract, what meaning they have for me is not going to be the same for you, this I believe is the supreme adventure. |
