Fat Cat Kareem f/ Killah Priest - Pages Of Life (Whitelabel)

Fat Cat Kareem is a newcomer to many of us, personally I've never heard him before. But after peepin' the whitelabel "Pages Of Life", I wouldn't claim him to lack of skills. Now, Fat Cat's fellow MC on this cut isn't just anyone though. One of the very illest MC's (THE illest if you ask me), Killah Priest appears - and he does it with a death blow. Once again kickin' true heavy knowlegde through the mic. The beat is dope, Fat Cat is dope, Priest is shinin' and "Pages Of Life" is a slammin' cut. Pick it up!

Common f/ Sadat X - 1999 (Rawkus/Promo)

This cut is supposed to appear on the Rawkus compilation "Soundbombing 2", due for release on May 18th. Common gets busy over a dope beat on "1999", collaborating with Brand Nubian's Sadat X and they're kickin' some interesting thoughts on the new millenium. People from The Roots crew are said to be responsible for most of the cuts on Common's upcoming album, on which "1999" will be featured, and judging from the sound of this one I wouldn't doubt it.

Loot Pack - Whenimondamic (Street Promo)

Newcomers Loot Pack from New York has a new 12-inch out entitled "Whenimondamic". Here's a vibe of both jazz and funk on this title track, but still it sounds very close to the original hiphop sound. The rhymes are really on point, it seems like there's a positive vibe breathing on larger parts of NY's scene right now. Besides "Whenomondamic", we also gets another two dope cuts in "Questions" and "Answers". Intellectual hiphop, don't sleep on it. Recieve the knowledge.

Afu-Ra f/ Masta Killa - Weekstyles (Street Promo)

We've know him mostly for backin' up on Jeru's albums, now it's time for Afu to shine solo. I know, there's a lot of new cats coming through right now, but Afu-Ra is absolutely no one to sleep on. Keep your eyes and ears on this man, I think he's got real high potentials to blow up for real. This cut is strictly representation from Afu, rhymeds layed over a rough, dark sound. Afu teams up with Masta Killa, this combination is really thrillin'.

Consequence - Weekendz (Job 2/Promo)

Yall ATCQ heads first heard him on 12-inch B-side's off the "Midnight Mauraders" album in -93 and he was given yet more attention on "Beats, Rhymes & Life", appearing on a handful of cuts. Consequence has recently put out two 12-inches in his own name on whitelabels. What impresses me with Cons is his flow, I'm into the way he lays his rhymes. Be on the lookout for an album from Consequence, if you dig ATCQ, you'll dig Cons.

Phife Dawg - Men Are Dogs (Street Promo)

Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest comes solo. I've always considered Phife to be one really underrated MC, personally I would claim him to be just as good as the Abstact Q-Tip himself. Pickin' up the theme from ATCQ's last album, "The Love Movement", this cut is about the ladies again. "Men Are Dogs", circulating as Street Promo on mixtapes, is said to be on an upcoming soundtrack. Phife is also said to be working on his own album, partly produced by Brand Nubian's Sadat X. I wouldn't be sure, but judging from the beat on "Men Are Dogs", it's sure reminding of the late-1980 sound of the Nubians.
