I never figured myself as a programmer (I never figure myself), even though most people who know me probably did. It might be a way of escaping reality but what's wrong with that? How exiting is reality anyway?
Computer simulations appeal to me as an artist, it has nothing to do with the math. To me, programming is just another way of creating art. Math works very predicatably when you're programming so it's really not a problem.
