Lohaerad Fold
These pages about Highland Cattle and Lohaerad Fold are written mainly in Swedish. Most of the pages are probably fully understandable for anyone who knows Highland Cattle and speaks English. On some of the pages I have written some of the text in both Swedish and English.
Lohaerad Fold is situated in Lohärad 70 km North of Stockholm, Sweden. Our fold started in 1997 and we where happy to be able to buy founding stock from some of the best known folds in Sweden. We had the good opportunity to buy some animals at the dispersal of one of the very best Swedish folds. Many of our animals are direct offspring from animals imported from Scotland. Our fold presently consists of 17 breeding cows and we have animals in all the official colours.
Our present stock bull, Adolhaus of Swains, is imported from Canada but he is a true Scot with both Sire, Sire of Dam and Sire of Grand Dam being imported from Scotland.
Sweden has a very good animal health status and Lohaerad Fold is a member of all the major official health programmes.
